GREATFUL FOR TEMPLES

So today in our sunday school class there were a couple investigators. This isn't uncommon living in the mission field. (we attend the gospel-essentials class because we are ward missionaries.) Anyways. . . The lesson was on temple ordinances and the blessings we receive from them- and how it is essential for us to go there so we can eventually return to live with our heavenly father. Well, a sweet sister(an investigator who comes often to church-raised as a catholic) had a different view on this. One of the missionaries asked her to share her thoughts on the temple. She let us know that she didn't have a testimony of temples and that she felt they were not important for our salvation. She also said that her mother hated the "mormon's" so she wouldn't want to go to the temple to do her temple work. After our discussion I hope she left feeling the spirit and will pray for a testimony of it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and feelings. I can understand how  the temple could maybe be an overwhelming concept for a non-member.  I really hope that one day she will gain a testimony of the importance of temples. I am so grateful for a testimony of temple work. I hope that one day all of my family can enjoy the blessings of the temple also.

UH-OH

This is Meili's favorite word. I hear this all day. UH-OH..... UH-OH.....UH-OH..... UH-OH..... It is so cute though and I just love it so I wanted to write it down so I don't forget!

I walked outside tonight and it was so cold my head felt cold inside. It was WIERD but
that is how SO DANG COLD IT IS HERE! and it isn't even winter yet- YIKES!!!! I feel
so bad for those pioneers that were in Nebraska and Iowa with babies in this COLD.
When does it turn spring again??????

Life. . .

So, Tyler came out of school and on the way home sang me my first "mommy" love song.
Skidamirinkie-dinkie-dink, skidamirinkie-doo, I love you. . . . Skidamirinkie-dinkie-dink, skidamirinkie-doo, I love you. . . . It was so cute the way he sings it. He then had to call his grandma, aunts, and gigi to sing it to them too. I'm thankful that Ty is my big boy. I'm thankful for his awesome teacher that he loves and teaches him so many new things.
WHAT GOES ON IN A KIDS MIND????
Then, tyler brings home these cute pictures he has drawn at school. The last 2 weeks he has been talking about being thankful for his family. So he showed me the pictures of mommy and daddy. . . . He told me he told his teacher lots of things about mommy and daddy. He then told me that he told his teacher that Mommy and Daddy like to fight. EXCUSE ME? I about died. . . This is really funny to me..... because Dave and I just DON'T ever fight. We never yell at each other or even argue. So, I was surprised he said this. I was actually really hurt. I said, Tyler your mommy and daddy love each other, we don't fight. . . . He said "You guys fight with everybody". Then it occured to me that possibly he heard another kid say this? Anyways. . . . Daddy and Mommy spent the night kissing in front of Tyler to show him we don't fight. I can't even really remember the last time Dave and I fighted. Maybe 8 1/2 years ago- even then, it was probably a little disagreement.  BUT TYLER JUST SO YOU KNOW MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE EACH OTHER. WE DON'T FIGHT. . . . If you want to see fighting watch Jerry Springer.. . .  JK

p.s. in the same conversation he also asked how do you make Chocolate Latte? (what the H) I don't know- how would he know what that is? He is 4- and I don't even know what a Latte is- other than some sort of coffee? And sorry, don't know how to make it either.

Pretty good art work. Eggs with 2 sticks coming from the. Hey that is ok. Notice my lovely hair! And notice I have a body. . . . while no one else does. I stood in the right line in heaven!
BLACK-MAIL PICTURES:
Tyler is into dressing up lately- and usually ends up in my clothes to do it. I haven't been TOO worried yet, I hear this is pretty common for the age. (hee hee) But this outfit was pretty good. My shirt, My knee high boots- Thigh highs to him, A black skull netting fabric for a train or cape? (leftover from halloween). SILLY KID!

Please somebody do my hair! I had to take a picture of this silly girl with poofy crazy hair. Nice cupie curl in front.

S
BYE, ELDER MITCHELL

We are ward missionaries and we LOVE our Elders. Well, Elder Mitchell got transferred last week. We were the lucky ones to feed him his last dinner in Omaha. I loved Elder Mitchell ,we got him Green. Omaha was his first area. He reminded me a lot of my brother. He was just a nice guy. He will do good in his next area's!

QUILTING. . . . SO we are having so much fun Quilting in our quilt group. I am getting some unfinished projects done- and taking on more---oops! But I finally finished quilting this top I made from my mom for Mothers Day, um 5 months ago. Happy Mothers Day! I love it though! It is so cozy on the back. It will look fabulous in my mom's house! YOU TOO CAN MAKE THIS TOO, IF YOU COME TO OUR QUILT GROUP. . . If you live in the VG and haven't heard we do this about 3 times a month- contact me. You will love it! Newyears resolution- DON'T BUY MORE FABRIC!!!

FLU- UGHHHHHH!!!

Yes, I got my flu shot. . . .  Yes, I still got the flu. . . .
So, Sat. night I started to feel like I ate something that upset my stomache. I just thought it was dinner. Then Sunday morning I woke up- and sure enough I knew it wasn't just the pizza I ate-I ache all over and the next 3 days were spent living in the bathroom. Thank heavens Meili takes 2 naps a day still- because that has SAVED my life! Dave has been awesome to just take the kids and pretty much do everthing with them while he is home- while I lay on the couch feeling YUCKY...... I think today I can tell the end is in sight though- Hallejua!

I'm not ready, I'm not ready. . . . did I mention I am NOT ready?

Today was SOOOO COLD!!!  and windy too. I am just NOT ready for this COLD weather. I was enjoying the fall weather way too much! But, one good thing about cold weather, is you can wear cute beanies. Meili surprisingly kept hers on today. Omaha wind is SO DANG COLD!

Randomness. . . .

What's going on right now in this crazy world?

Gas is now at $1.92 down from almost $5.00 gallon just a couple months ago. We just got a new President of the United States. Barack Obama. The first African American man to be President. Prop 8 is a big issue right now in California. This is a law that was trying to make marriage between the same sex legal. The LDS church has actually come out with a strong opinion on this. Which I am so glad we have modern prophets to lead us through these crazy times. Riots are going on right now in CA. over this fact that the people voted to make marriage between a man and a woman. I am really glad that my children (FOR NOW) will not have to be taught about all these different life styles in school. The economy right now is TERRIBLE. Everyone is stressed about it.. . . . . .
I am glad I have my little family and am really lucky to live where I do-- with great neighbors and friends. . . . . anyways. . . . . . . enough of that, here is our family now.

the fall leaves were beautiful here. The first official picture with Meili in it.
It's only been 1 year. Thanks Adam and Lisa for helping us out!
The best hubby in the world!
(Dave and I have been together now for over 14 years. Its Great!)

3 things that would make Tyler smile this day. (he was sick)  1. Smile nice for Grandma 2. We'll give this to Whitnie (a neighbor girl he has a little crush on) and 3. We'll give one to Miss Melissa (his other favorite person right now his Pre-K teacher)

not the most smiley one!
I HATE PICTURES- and I will cry if I want to- this is torture mom!!!

Another Halloween. . . come. . . . and. . . . gone . . .

This year was such a georgous day for Halloween. It was so sunny and warm. We had a great day! Tyler had his FIRST Elementry school costume parade experience as a fireman. He just loved it. He was a fireman. Afterwards he got to eat cookies and have treats at school with his friends. Meili didn't know what to think about all the kids in costumes.
Meili was an adorable flower. The cutest one I ever did see. (I don't think I saw any other flower- so she really was the CUTEST)

Trick or Treating in the VG was pretty fun! Tyler was a little shy to knock on the doors. So, I usually knocked. Meili was happy as can be- because someone was so nice to give her a sucker. Daddy especially loved it in his HAIR. It was a fun Halloween!

MEILI TOOK HER FIRST STEPS!!!!!

Meili took 4 steps right in a row.(3 days ago). Dave and I were screaming. Then, later that day- she got even braver- she took 10 steps. WOW!!!! Go Meili. She will be close to walking here anyday she will just take off. TYLER YOU BETTER WATCH OUT! she also loves to do hand stands. She is so talented!
