UPDATE ON OUR ADOPTION

We got a call from our attorney yesterday and things are actually moving forward with our adoption. YEAHHHHH. They got clearance from the judge to put the newspaper article in the HI papers to publish for the birthfather (this is standard for most adoptions- this terminates the rights of the birthfather). She found a really cheap one- only $140.00 which is I guess is a great price- and it is a small paper (hopefully less likely to be read!!!!) The paper ran yesterday or today. It will run once a week for 3 weeks. Then after the last publishing they will send our attorney's verification that it ran- then we can go to court so she said we would have a court date around Mid June. But I told her we wouldn't be there until mid July so that is when they will set our finalization date for. And as far as the mother's relinquishment goes ---that we were all worried about--- looks like Hawaii law is very liberal and don't really have a lot of strict guidlines so we are ok with that too, they think. YEAH! What a relief to not have to bother the birthmother again. So this was great news to us! So, looks like Meili will be sealed to us when she is about 11 months. Right around our 9 year wedding anniversary. Isn't this girl the cutest thing EVER!!!

Trying to make a quik escape.

This little stinker wants to be where brother is- outside. She will go where ever the action is- even if it is a windy cold spring day.

The kids have loved being home with Dad.

Since dad has been home, He is the center of attention. No shortage of attacking daddy at all.

my little piggly wiggly

I think Meili ate most of Dave's dinner. Alfredo- she must be my girl!

SPRING WEATHER BRINGS OUT DOOR ACTIVITIES!

Tyler's little friend taught him how to play hop-scotch. So this is what we did yesterday for hours.

THUG'S. . . . .

So there are a couple little boys that live by us that Dave calls the little hoods, or thugs, or
hoodlums what ever you prefer-------- anyway's they are about Tyler's age. They are little bully's and have no parental supervision. They roam around the neighborhood all day. Well Tyler of course being "friends" with everyone wants to play with the little boys. They always come around him when he is outside. Well Tyler is picking up on naughty habits these boys do. (peeing outside for one- previous post). But anyway most recently we went out to dinner and Tyler said to Dave- "Do you want a piece of me?". Dave said what did you say? He even said it in a thuggish way (gangster). Man, how do you teach them not to do what the other little boys do. This is a hard stage- they are such little sponges and pick up on things way too FAST. HELP!!!!!

SIBLINGS IN HEAVEN

20 LITTLE TOES RAN AROUND TOGETHER IN HEAVEN. . .

I am convinced Meili and Tyler ran around in heaven together and taught each other everything they knew. These were taken on 2 diff. days and diff. places- but how cute that they do the same thing with their toes.

THEY JUST GROW UP WAY TOO FAST!!!

I CAME INTO MEILI'S ROOM THE OTHER DAY- AND FOUND HER STANDING IN HER CRIB. I ABOUT DIED. SHE CAN'T DO THAT!!!! SHE IS MY BABY- NOT MY BIG GIRL. PLUS THIS JUST MADE MY LIFE A WHOLE LOT HARDER!!!! (this is her trying to climb up on the futon.)

TYLER JUST TURNED YEARS OLD! WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE? HE IS SO INDEPENDENT AND HE SHOWS ME EVERY MORNING HOW MUCH HIS LEGS HAVE GROWN OVER NIGHT. HE IS SO SILLY!

I MADE MY MOM FLY OUT WITH ME TO OMAHA SO I WOULDN'T HAVE TO TRAVEL WITH THE KIDS ALL BY MYSELF- WHILE SHE WAS HERE WE DECIDED TO CHECK OUT A LOCAL ANTIQUE SHOP IN OLD MARKET. THIS WAS A FABULOUS SHOP. I FOUND 2 PIECES THAT I JUST HAD TO HAVE.

THIS SWEET 9 PAIN WINDOW- WILL BE PAINTED AND CONVERTED INTO A CALENDAR/ MEMO DRY-ERASE BOARD. (SUCH A SWEET FIND!) I WILL POST THE FINISHED PRODUCT WHEN I AM DONE!
AND THEN I GOT THIS SWEET LITTLE KID CHAIR (TY IS SITTING ON IT IN THE ABOVE PICTURE.) I GOT IT FOR MY PHOTO SHOOTS WITH CHILDREN. I THOUGHT IT WAS SO CUTE. HAVEN'T DECIDED IF I WILL JUST LEAVE IT LIKE THIS OR PAINT IT A FUN PASTEL COLOR OR BLACK? ANY IDEAS?

PLAYING CATCH-UP

IN UTAH MEILI GOT A TASTE OF YUMMY FOOD. CUPCAKES AT BECKY & WHITNIE'S BDAY PARTY. GRANDMA SPOILS HER. SHE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

BEING A PARENT OF A 4 YEAR OLD BRINGS YOU YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENTS EVER. . . . . MUST READ!!!

(usually I always attach a picture- but you probably don't want one of this!)

So Dave and I went to look at a 4 bedroom unit for sale in our complex, yesterday. After we looked at it and told them that we were quite interested, Tyler came up to me and said, "I need to go peeps (pee pee)" I told him, they will let us use their bathroom. He didn't want to and said I don't need to go peeps now.--- because I think he was a little shy to use their bathroom. So we start to talk more to the owners as we were getting ready to leave, and all the sudden their little girl comes in from playing just out the back door with Tyler on the back steps and she is wet on her tummy and said he peed- we look out and sure enough Tyler is peeing on the steps while the little girl was sitting there. She had pee all down her tummy. . . he kept peeing. . .and peeing. . . and peeing. The steps and the little girl, of the owners, were covered with Tyler pee OH MY GOSH!!!!!! Dave and I were so embarrassed!!! We kept apologizing. Our chances of buying that one are probably pretty slim. Or maybe it was a sign of Tyler marking his territory- whatever it was IT WAS VERY EMBARRASSING!!!!!

OMAHA--- HERE WE COME!

After being here in Utah for 2 months- I just got word from our new attorney's that we are looking at least one more month until we can go to court to finalize our adoption. This was disappointing news to hear after all the hassle we have gone through and all the time we have been here trying to get things cleared up. But at least I can go home and see my husband again! YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I have really enjoyed hangin' out here but I miss my friends in Omaha too. I guess we will finalize and seal Meili to us in July after Dave is done in clinic. We are planning on heading home in one week. IF YOU EVER ADOPT GO THROUGH A GOOD ADOPTION AGENCY THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
